Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel

  • We are going on the Bahamas cruise on the Disney Dream in February and I booked a couples massage for my husband and I on castaway cay. He has some problems walking and uses a cane, is it far from the boat, and if it is, is there a way to transport him?

  • Welcome aboard, Becky! Next month you'll be heading south to enjoy the warmer waters of the Bahamas on your Disney Dream cruise! I bet you are getting excited!

The couples' massages on Castaway Cay are at the Adults Only Serenity Bay. This beautiful part of the beach is at the far end of the island. However, Disney Cruise Line provides tram shuttles taking guests to two different stops on the Family Beach and to Serenity Bay. As long as your husband can walk a few hundred feet from the ship to the shuttle stop, you'll be able to hop on and enjoy a nice ride out to Serenity Bay.

Sand wheelchairs are available near the Family Beach tram stops, if you'd like to borrow one to get around the rest of the island more easily after your massages. However, you might want to grab one early on in the day, as there are only a limited number. Additionally, if you think that the walk from the ship to the shuttle might be a bit too much for your husband, Disney offers a limited number of wheelchairs for use on the ship too. You may ask a Cast Member that morning before getting off the ship and they may be able to have one waiting for you and your husband just outside the ship.

I hope that information helps as you continue to plan your Dream cruise, Becky! Let me know if I can help with anything else before you set sail!
