Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel

  • We will be going on our first Disney Magic Cruise in February 2014. Which of the activities do you recommend for a 3 and 5 year old? I think they might just enjoy playing on the beach, but don't want to rule out the adventures offered just yet.

  • Hi Torrie, welcome aboard! I love chatting with guests who are about to embark on their very first Disney Cruise! I remember getting ready for my family's first cruise with Disney, and being so excited to read about every possible thing we'd be able to experience!

There are some fun Port Adventures in Nassau that you might consider. My family and I loved swimming with the dolphins at Blue Lagoon and enjoying the Blue Lagoon Beach Day. The kids will enjoy the catamaran ride to the island and all the fun on the beautiful beach there. If you want to step it up a notch, join the Dolphin Encounter for ages three and up. The staff there were very friendly, and the dolphins were just amazing! It's really a once-in-a-lifetime experience, Torrie. Plus, you get to stay and enjoy Blue Lagoon Beach afterwards.

There are some great adventures over at the beautiful Atlantis resort too. Your family might enjoy the Atlantis Beach Day & Discover Atlantis adventure which takes you to explore this unique resort and spend some time at the beach before returning on your own time.

If you only choose one Port Adventure on your cruise, I'd recommend doing it in Nassau. Castaway Cay has some really nice adventures too, but since most everything else on Disney's private island is included, you can be busy all day without booking anything additional! Your kiddos will love Pelican Plunge, Monstro Point whale dig, crab races, character dance parties and so many other fun events! Plus, if you find that you'd like to snorkel, rent bikes or floats, you can easily do that whenever you'd like with no prior reservations on the island. They usually have plenty available so walk-up rentals are not an issue!

Have fun planning, Torrie! Let me know how else I can help!
