Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel
- Hi! We will be traveling on the Disney Dream for the OCT 31st sailing. On Castaway Cay, what do I NEED to bring with a 1 year old, 3 yr old, 9 and 10 year old? Are there enough lounge chairs? Umbrellas? Thank you!

- Welcome aboard, Emma! It's only a few more weeks until you set sail on the Disney Dream! You must be getting excited!
Castaway Cay is one of my favorite beaches in the entire world. Since this is Disney's private island, you'll notice all the amazing service you come to expect from Disney, special Disney touches everywhere, and of course a beautiful setting in which to relax or take on activity after activity!
The only things you absolutely need on Castaway Cay are your swimsuits, towels (which you'll get as you walk off the ship that morning), sunscreen and your Key To The World Cards. Oh, and your camera! Always have your camera! Your food and most non-alcoholic drinks will be included in your cruise fare, and you'll find a few fun spots to eat on Castaway Cay.
There are plenty of lounge chairs. I've sailed on sold out cruises with Disney and still have seen empty chairs on the beach. There are umbrellas throughout the beach as well as shady spots under the trees. If you are like me and need some shade, I would suggest heading off the ship first thing in the morning just to be sure you have lots of options for seating in the shade. There are two tram stops for Family Beach. Most guests don't realize this at first, so they hop off at the first stop. I like to wait until the second Family Beach stop so that we are further down the beach where there are more available spots and it is a bit less crowded to begin with. No matter where you sit, all of the fun is within walking distance!
Have fun as you continue to plan, Emma!
