Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel

  • What "secrets" are there for Disney cruise activities? I already know to make reservations for the high tea right away. What are other "free" special activities that I should know about?

  • Hi Meg,

This is a great question.  One of the things I hear most from friends considering a cruise vacation is that they worry that there won't be enough to do on-board - and I'm more than happy to put them at ease with a list of some of our favorite activities!

Thanks to the magic of the internet, I have found that there are not many "secrets" left when it comes to planning activities for a vacation.  What I love about cruising is that regardless of what is offered, there is always something unique for each of the members of our family want to participate in.

You mentioned having Tea with Alice and a few of her friends, this is one of the few things that you can actually pre-arrange (once on-board) through guest services, and I highly suggest that you do.  Most of the activities are open to all guests and are available on first-come, first-served basis.  You will find that there is a wide array of options from napkin folding, to walking tours of the ship, to martini and/or beer tasting, or board games, scrapbooking and Wii tournaments.  The activities are endless!

The best resource for planning out your days will be your Personal Navigator, this is your summary of every activity and entertainment option each day.  The navigators are delivered to your stateroom in the evening for the next day's activities.  I suggest that you bring a different color high-lighter for each member of your party so you can mark up the navigators according to the interests of your group.

Personally, I approach each voyage knowing that there will be more than enough activities for our group.  By not pre-determining my "wish-list" of activities prior to my voyage, I avoid any any disappointment should something I had heard about not be offered during my cruise.  This way the Personal Navigator is full of "surprises" each day.  Hope this helps!
