Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel
- Hello! We are considering taking our first ever Disney Cruise. Can you explain a little how the dining works. Are we automatically assigned to specific restaurants each night or do we need to make reservations???

- Hi Natasha,
Welcome to the Moms Panel! I welcome any opportunity to explain the unique rotational system that Disney Cruise Line offers for your dining experience - because it's one of the highlights of cruising with DCL.
If you have ever cruised with another cruise line, you are most likely accustomed to dining with the same table-mates and having the same servers for each evening meal. What is unique about DCL is that you will dine with the same table mates, at the same table number, with the same service staff - yet in a different restaurant each evening. It is what Disney calls rotational dining and it is amazing because this gives every guest the opportunity to dine at each of the magnificently themed signature restaurants. The decor and cuisine will vary each night, but I can guarantee you will find something you like on the menu - if not, talk to your server they never let anyone leave hungry!
There is no need to make reservations. Once you board the ship, you will find dining tickets waiting for you in your stateroom. These will confirm your dining time, indicate the order in which you will dine in each restaurant, and have your table number listed. You will want to take these tickets with you to the restaurant on the first evening.
If you wish to dine at the adults-only Palo (or Remy which will be on the Disney Dream), it is strongly suggested that you make a reservation prior to sailing. As a first time cruiser this can be done within 75 days of departure, and your cruise must be paid in full. You would simply skip your scheduled dining location on the evening you dine at Palo/Remy. As a courtesy, I would let your server know which evening you will be dining elsewhere.
I hope this helps - let me know if you have any other questions!
