Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel

  • A couple more questions- are children aboard the ships given a key to the world card? Just wondering if they would need a lanyard too. Second question, how do breakfast times work aboard the ship? We are sailing Jan 19, 2014. Thank you!!

  • Hi Jeremy, welcome back! You're inching closer and closer to your sail date and I bet you have some very excited kids right now!

Every guest, including children, are assigned their own Key To The World Card. If this is your first cruise with Disney, upon check-in at the port, Cast Members will take your photos to assign to each card. This photo pops up each time you scan the card to disembark in port or re-board after a fun day of exploring. These cards are also used to make purchases onboard and at Castaway Cay. When you check in online, you can choose who has charging privileges and who doesn't. Lanyards are not provided when you are first time guest with Disney Cruise Line. Once you have sailed with Disney, you then become Castaway Club members, and on each following cruise will receive a lanyard as you check in (along with other goodies in your stateroom!). So, you might want to pick up a few lanyards for your family if you plan to wear your Key To The World Cards. Otherwise, just keep them with you in your pocket or daybag.

Each evening, you'll receive a Personal Navigator. This is the schedule of the ship's activities and events. Here you'll see the hours for breakfast at each restaurant. You are welcome to enjoy a leisurely breakfast by ordering complimentary room service or stop up to Cabanas breakfast buffet. Two of the main dining restaurants will also offer breakfast options with various operating hours. The same for lunch. The only real scheduled dining time is your dinner seating, Jeremy. Other than that, your time is your own and you can get up early or sleep late, play at the pool or watch a movie, participate in family trivia or drop the kids at the clubs while you sneak away for spa time. I love this about a Disney Cruise! There is time for us all together and time for us to explore our own favorites as well.

    Have a wonderful cruise, Jeremy!
