Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel
- Is it really going to be a big deal if my 8-year old son wears dress shorts (basically kaki pants made as shorts) with a golf shirt to dinner at the more casual restaurants on board the Dream. We'll be sure to have pants for the real fancy place.

- Hi, Allyson!
Each evening at dinner, your family will have the opportunity to dine at one of the three main restaurants aboard the Disney Dream: Animator's Palate, Enchanted Garden or Royal Palace. Disney Cruise Line requests that each guest observe "cruise casual" attire in those areas -- which means no shorts, tank tops or swimwear. Dining on deck -- such as at Cabanas or at the quick service counters by the pool -- are more casual, and room service is of course the ultimate casual dining experience.
For a young boy, it is doubtful that anyone from the dining team will make mention of his shorts at dinner. However, I have seen servers request adult guests to change from shorts or swimwear before being seated. I usually ask that my boys wear the same khaki pants each night and switch out a collared shirt. Of course, I also have a stain stick with me on board, too!
Hopefully, this will help you plan, and please let me know if there are other questions I can answer for you. Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation.
