Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel
- We have four young kids--this means we need two staterooms. As a family of six, it seems we have to pay for four adult fares and only get the kids fare for two of the kids. Is there a way for families of six not to be penalized?

- Hey Krista,
I love hearing from friends in the granite state - thanks for your question!
The unique experience of an all-inclusive vacation on Disney Cruise is what you pay for - and is exactly what you get. There is no better, more convenient, family friendly or stress-free way to travel with young children. To have convenient, close accessibility to all the entertainment, recreation and food you could want with the comfort of knowing the peace and seclusion of your stateroom is mere moments away is what makes cruising so enjoyable. Add to that the fact that someone else does all the cooking and cleaning makes and it's a dream come true for me!
Regardless of cabin type, the first two passengers will always pay full fare - but there are a few things you can do to try to make the cost a little easier to take. First of all, try to book as far in advance as possible. Cruising typically lends itself to early booking discounts, so the earlier you book the better. If at all possible travel in a non-peak time, either late summer, September or January into early February. These are also the months you'll have the best chance of scoring a last minute deal.
If you like to travel with extended family - this would be a great opportunity and an excellent way to keep your cost down. You could get two family staterooms that are connecting (they each accommodate 5), this will cover the two adults in each stateroom - and you could put two children on each reservation. They will seamlessly link the reservations to ensure that your party stays together - and the cabin stewards are wonderful about understanding the kid shuffle, and will prepare the beds however you like (as long as there are no more than five in either stateroom). This would eliminate you having to pay full fare for all four children.
