  • Hi We are traveling with my sisters family and our parents. We have a 3,9 and 10 yr old kids and my sister has 9 and a 14 yr old. My question is can my sisters 14 yr old daughter go into the oceaner club with the rest of the kids? Thanks for your help

  • Welcome aboard, Jeremy!

The Youth Clubs onboard are great spaces for kids to join in on all the fun activities and events with the amazing youth counselors. I get jealous sometimes of the exciting activities I read about in the clubs and wish I could participate too! The good news is that there are Open House hours throughout the sailing when parents (and older siblings) can stay in the Youth Clubs and enjoy the activities with the younger kids. Other times, the clubs offer secured programming where only the children stay with the counselors.

The Oceaneer Club and Oceaneer Lab are for children ages 3 to 12, so your 14-year old niece will not be able to hang out there with her younger sibling and cousins there, except during Open House hours with the parents and kids. However, your niece can have some fun with kids her own age in either the Edge, for tweens 11-14 or Vibe for teens 14-17. I have some extra good news about Edge too. Usually, a 10-year old who has a friend, cousin or sibling in Edge is able to join in on the programming there with a parent's permission. If your 10-year old child wants to hang with his or her older cousin in Edge sometimes, that shouldn't be a problem at all. Just swing by Edge when you first board the ship during Open House hours. You can chat with the counselors there about allowing your 10-year old to join in. Just keep in mind that the Edge does not require parents to check their children in and out, so kids there are able to come and go as they please.

Don't forget that there will be all sorts of family activities for all ages together throughout the ship during your cruise. Keep an eye on your Personal Navigator each day. You might even bring different colored highlighters so each family member can highlight their must-do's for the next day.

    Have fun planning, Jeremy!
