  • I have two children, ages 5 and 7. When my husband and I are enjoying ourselves at Remy and Palo for dinner, what will our children be served for dinner?
  • - Asked by Michelle from Wisconsin on 1/28/2014
  • Welcome aboard, Michelle! Your kiddos are the same ages as mine, so I can tell you from lots of first hand experience that you are about to embark on a magical journey with them! The Youth Clubs onboard are such great places for them to play, learn, make new friends and explore without Mom and Dad. Then, of course there are lots of activities for the whole family, so you won't be left out! Not to mention the adult activities you can enjoy while the kids are having the time of their lives in the clubs! Something for everyone!

I'm glad you're making reservations at Palo or Remy. You'll be so glad you snuck away to enjoy a romantic meal at one of these top-notch restaurants. My husband and I never miss the chance to dine there when we sail. Your kids have a few options while you're away for dinner. Depending on the time of your reservation, you could take the kids to one of the quick service spots near the pool for dinner first, or sit with them while they enjoy a laid back meal at Cabanas, order room service so they can eat while you get dressed, or even sit with them at your regular meal time before you head out to your reservation. Of course, your kids' favorite option will probably be eating with new friends in the clubs. The Oceaneer Club and Lab will serve dinner at a set time, and they ask that kids planning to eat be there at least 15 minutes before the meal time so they can plan. Check your Personal Navigator for specific times as you sail.

When my kids have eaten there for dinner, they've had anything from pizza, chicken fingers or Mickey-shaped pasta. Lunch is usually sandwiches. I've heard that they've cleaned their plates each time, so you can guarantee that they'll be serving very kid-friendly options, Michelle. You're always welcome to check with the counselors that day for specifics on what might be served that particular evening. They'll be happy to let you know.

I hope those details help as you continue planning. Let me know if you have other questions!
