- We're taking a cruise Jan. 2013, my kids will be 3.5 yr and 5. I know they will love the oceaneer club. My concern is that it is for ages 3 - 10.... do they keep the little kids (3-5 yr) separate from the bigger kids (8-10 yr) and completely supervised.

On Disney ships, you can rest assured knowing your children are safe, happy and even learning while they are in the Youth Activities Spaces on board. The counselors are well trained, love their jobs and enjoy hanging out with kids. As a result, the only problem you may encounter is coaxing your children out of the youth spaces.
Although kids ages 3-10 are welcome in either Disney's Oceaneer Club or Oceaneer Lab, the activities and events in the Club are more geared to the younger set -- such as simpler arts and crafts activities, preschool-appropriate story and movie times and character appearances which appeal to the littlest cruisers like "Do-Si-Do with Snow White." The preschoolers are definitely more closely watched and grouped together than the older kids. Of course, everyone is tracked while in children's programming using the handy "Mickey Bands" -- an electronic device worn on the wrist or ankle.
You can get a feel for the areas during the Open House on Embarkation Day, and make sure you take a look at the various activities going on in the Club and Lab throughout your cruise using your daily Personal Navigator (schedule/newsletter). My kids enjoy helping to create their own schedule while on board based on what is happening in their exclusive areas.
I hope this helps you plan and relieves any mom worries you had. Please let me know if there's anything else I can do for you. Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
