Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel

  • We're going on our first ever cruise in April, onboard the Disney Dream, with DS5 and DD2. Would DD2 be able to go biking with us while on Castaway Cay? Bicycle rental shows ages 3-9 but we really want to include our 2 y/o (in the child seat provided).

  • Welcome aboard, Samnang! Congratulations on your very first Disney cruise! Your family is in for so much fun and adventure aboard the Disney Dream and at Castaway Cay!

Renting bikes to explore Castaway Cay is a great way to spend some time on Disney's private island! I have seen younger children riding in the child seats of the adults' bikes on the island, so I think you'll be okay. I believe that the age range for this is for children renting their own bikes, not necessarily riding in them. Normally, the Port Adventures are very strict and clear about age restrictions and do not waver from those ages, however, I do think that younger kids are able to ride in the kids' seats for this particular experience. You don't need to reserve the bikes now, as plenty are available on the island and you're welcome to simply walk up and rent whenever you'd like, so plan to do that. Chat with the Cast Members there just to verify that your 2-year old can ride on the child seat of your bike, and you'll be all set. No promises, but it is certainly worth asking when you're there, Samnang!

Have fun as you continue to plan your cruise on the Dream! Please stop back before you set sail and let me know if you have any other questions about your cruise! Happy planning!
