  • I saw in our paperwork for our Aug cruise aboard the Dream that there are 2 phones in each room. Are these free of charge or is it a charge per minute. Can you leave one on in your room and listen through the other for babies crying from another room?

  • Ahoy, Alice!

Congratulations on your upcoming cruise aboard the beautiful Disney Dream -- she is an oh-so stylish ship brimming with the latest in technology and innovation!

There are two wave phones located in each stateroom on every Disney Cruise Line ship.  The use of the wave phones is included in the price of your cruise fare, but there is a stiff penalty if a phone is lost or damaged. My family and I have found the wave phones to be most helpful in tracking down each other on the ship...especially since we don't have an international calling plan on our cell phones. We use the wave phones on board and never have to worry about roaming or international minutes.

Think of the wave phones as a cell phone at sea. You can place calls to one another and other places on the ship, and you can even text and leave voice mail messages.  The call rolls over to your stateroom phone if you don't answer it after a few rings. Yet, you really can't use it as a baby monitor.

I hope this helps you plan. Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation.

    Bon voyage,

    Andi
