Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel
- Is there anything on the cruise that you can not use a Disney gift card for? Can you use it for your prepaid tips? Adult dining? Spa services?
- - Asked by Jennifer from Pennsylvania on 2/24/2014
- Welcome aboard, Jennifer! Disney Cruise Line offers something for everyone in the family, and I know you'll have a fabulous time when you set sail with Captain Mickey and his crew!
When you arrive at the port and check in, you'll each receive a Key To The World Card. This will serve as your stateroom key, photopass card, and charge card. The ship operates on a cashless basis, so any purchases made onboard and at Castaway Cay will be with your Key To The World Card, which then charges your stateroom account.
If you'd like to use Disney Gift Cards onboard, you can use them in the gift shops. They are not accepted elsewhere. But, it is possible to use them to credit your stateroom account. Simply bring those gift cards to Guest Services. They'll enter them in as credits on your stateroom account, to go toward Port Adventures, Adult Dining, Spa Services, or really any other purchase that is charged to your account. Should you find that at the end of the sailing, you still have credit on your account, simply stop by Guest Services with those gift cards and they'll credit back to your gift card the remaining balance. We do this each time we sail, as it helps us budget ahead of time. In addition, you can call the agents at Disney Cruise Line ahead of time to add Disney Gift Cards to your account before you sail to help pay part of the cruise fare or just to credit your onboard account.
I hope those details help as you count down the days until you set sail, Jennifer! Stop back if you have other questions!
