- Just booked a 4 day cruise to the Bahamas on the Disney Dream. We would like to stay at DisneyWorld hotel prior to going on the cruise and go to the park. Our kids are 8 and 10. What is the best recommended hotel to stay in? We are going in May.

Congratulations on your upcoming cruise on the Disney Dream -- we sailed on that magnificent ship twice this year, and it's like a dream come true!
Combining a Walt Disney World stay with a Disney cruise makes for a fantastic way to combine the best of both worlds. Yet, with more than a couple dozen resort choices, the possibilities are vast. The closer you stay to the parks, the more convenient the transportation. Those choice accommodations are the deluxe resorts -- complete with top-notch amenities such as fine dining, recreation and plenty of entertainment. There are also moderate and value resorts which are further away from the parks but offer families a way to stay right in the middle of the magic without costing a bundle. In addition, there are even villa resorts which give you the comfort of home and are equipped with kitchens, separate living and bedroom areas and washers/dryers.
You can see all the available possibilities for you and your family on DisneyCruise.com under "Cruises & Destinations: Packages. For me and my family, we enjoy being on a monorail resort for the ultimate in convenience to our favorite park, Magic Kingdom. We love the Contemporary since it's only a walk away and houses some of the best dining, recreation and entertainment choices on property.
Let me know if I can navigate you through another vacation planning choice before you sail. I've included a video about the new Disney Dream which we shot the last time we were on the ship back in April. Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
