Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel

  • My family of 6 along with my sister in law who is slower going from her M.S. will be visiting Disneyland in July. We are staying at VGC with our DVC. I am wondering if you think we should get a 3 or 4 day park ticket. We have kids aged 2,4,7,9.

  • Hi Stephanie,

I'm so excited for your family to visit the Disneyland Resort in July.  What a magical way for family to get together!

I would suggest maximizing your time by purchasing a 4-Day Park ticket so you don't feel rushed. Look at the park opening times and visit the park that opens first that day. Be sure to utilize the FASTPASS service, this will optimize your time in the parks. I would also suggest you utilize the Extra Magic Hour since you are staying at a Disneyland Resort Hotel.

Disneyland Resort hotel guests may enter either Disneyland or Disney California Adventure Park an hour early each day of stay according to the schedule with a valid theme park ticket and room key.

    Disneyland Park: Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays
Disney California Adventure Park: Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays

On one of the days, begin at Disney California Adventure Park and get a FASTPASS for Radiator Springs Racers Attraction. Ride some attractions until your return time. We like to ride The Little Mermaid ~ Ariel's Undersea Adventure attraction while waiting for our return time, because it's a splashing good time.

With a 4-Day Park ticket, you should have plenty of time to enjoy both parks. You will also want to make dining reservations ahead of time. I would suggest a Character Dining experience, they are a fun-filled and easy way for your little ones to get their picture taken with their beloved characters without waiting in long lines. There are 5 restaurants to choose from, 2 are in-park dining experiences. You can make reservations by calling Disneyland Dining at (714) 781- DINE, to insure your party has a table.

I hope this helps. If you have any more questions, please write me back on how I can help plan your pixie-dusted vacation.

Best wishes for a magical trip.

    ~ Lynette
