Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel
- I have been to WDW several times but am making my 1st trip to DL in July! What is the best public transportation from LAX to a good neighbor hotel? Also what recommendations do you have for a WDW veteran visiting for the 1st time?

- Greetings Amy and many congrats on your first visit to Disneyland, The Happiest Place on Earth.
There are many different ways to travel between LAX and the Disneyland Resort area, my recommendation being the Disneyland Resort Express. Disneyland Resort Express is operated by Southern California Gray Line and is not Disney-owned or operated. You will be able to board a Disney-themed motor coach just outside of the baggage claim area fro a convenient ride directly to the Disneyland Resort area.
After exiting the baggage claim area at LAX, you should proceed to the center transportation island and look for a green sign in front of each terminal. Busses come and go regularly from Terminal #1, and a reservation is not required, although there is a fee (Adult R/T $32, Child R/T $25). (The Disneyland website offers lots of LAX transportation information if you don't think Disneyland Resort Express will work for you.)
As an East Coast native, I had to learn to experience Disneyland as a WDW veteran myself, and my best advice is be sure to experience the Disneyland exclusive attractions but you should also take the time to experience the overlaps, because the differences may surprise you! For me, realizing the nostalgia of Disneyland is one of the best parts. Knowing that I am in the land of Walt... touching things he touched...riding attractions he worked on with his own hands...THIS is where the magic began and it feels so good to experience this first hand. It really hits home when you first spy the light in Walt's Apartment.
It is an honor to assist in the planning of your first magical Disneyland vacation! Please write back if you think of anything else! -Amanda
