Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel
- We are debating between our visit to Disney this year-Disneyland or DisneyWorld. From our past visits and from mousesavers.com we know the Disney World offers free dining around Thanksgiving time. Does Disneyland ever off free dining?
Thanks so much!

- Hey there Erin,
I am a high fan of the "Free Dining" promotion which is frequently offered in conjunction with Walt Disney World vacation packages! While Disneyland is home to so many fabulous restaurants, I am sad to say that our West Coast resort does not offer a Dining Plan like that of Disney World, and therefore does not offer a "Free Dining Promotion."
The Dining Plan at Disneyland is a voucher system that is structured to serve as a convenient method of pre-paying for meals and really offers no savings. I would love to see Disneyland adopt a Dining Plan in the future but I don't see it happening anytime soon!
That being said, I wouldn't take your sights off Disneyland because of the Dining Plan alone! The Happiest Place on Earth just got EVEN happier, and with the recent re-opening of California Adventure, which now features Buena Vista Street and Cars Land, not to mention exciting new improvements at Disneyland and Downtown Disney plus the renovation of the DIsneyland Hotel...NOW is the perfect time to visit! Especially since you're planning a visit around Thanksgiving. Two classic Disneyland attractions, Haunted Mansion and It's a Small World will have their unique holiday overlays and the parks will be decked out with gorgeous Holiday decorations!
I consider myself a "coast to coast" Disney fanatic and have really enjoyed experiencing the similarities and differences shared by both Disneyland and Disney World. I think every Disney fan should definitely experience both.
