Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel
- We are visitng DIsneyland for the first time in July of 2014. We normally go to WDW and always book the best restarurants 6 months in advance. Do people normally book restaurants that early? If so, which ones do we NOT want to miss?

- Hi, Aaron!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thanks for your great question. Dining at the Disneyland Resort is different because you don’t need reservations for every meal, and there aren’t as many table-service restaurants as there are at Walt Disney World. There are many wonderful quick-service dining options throughout the resort that don’t accept reservations at all. However, if you plan to enjoy any table-service or character dining meals (like Ariel's Grotto for princess photo opportunities), I recommend making reservations. They can be made up to 60 days in advance online or by calling (714) 781-DINE (3463).
For a great Disneyland Park breakfast, I suggest Carnation Café. You’ll find menu items such as huevos rancheros and classic favorites like Mickey-shaped waffles with bacon or sausage. Blue Bayou is my favorite restaurant in that park, serving Cajun- and Creole-style food. It’s located inside the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction, and the gently-lit “outdoor” atmosphere is like no other dining experience in the parks!
Although it's not a table-service restaurant, be sure to try Flo’s V8 Café in Cars Land, which features American cuisine. My go-to meal is one of the home-style rotisserie classics, and you must try the single-serving fruit pies. The décor is inspired by the drive-up diners along Route 66 and features a spectacular view of cars speeding by on the Radiator Springs Racers attraction!
Carthay Circle Restaurant is my favorite fine-dining restaurant in both parks because of the glamorous 1930s-Hollywood atmosphere and top-notch cuisine. Consider booking a World of Color dining package so you can enjoy a special meal followed by a viewing of the popular show from a prime reserved location.
Bon appetite, Aaron! Please write back with more questions as you continue planning your pixie-dusted vacation.
Wishing you magic,
