  • Hi, Lisa!

I‘m so happy you’re planning your first family vacation to the Disneyland Resort! It’s going to be a positively magical visit for you all. A great first step is to peruse Disneyland.com at home so you can create a family wish list of attractions and entertainment. Plan to use Disney’s FASTPASS service when available to optimize your time in the parks, and plan to take advantage of any early theme park entry options available to you.

There are lots of attractions even your youngest will be able to ride. If there’s no minimum height requirement posted at an attraction, you can all go. Check out the interactive attractions list online to see exactly what your 2-year-old and 5-year-old are tall enough ride—the list can be sorted by height, thrill level, or interest group. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised by how much the whole family will be able to experience together!

I suggest making dining reservations for any table-service meals you might like to enjoy. Blue Bayou is my favorite restaurant in Disneyland Park. It’s located inside the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction, and the gently-lit “outdoor” atmosphere is like no other dining experience!

Be sure to try Flo’s V8 Café in Cars Land at Disney California Adventure Park, which features classic American cuisine. The décor is inspired by drive-up diners and features a spectacular view of cars speeding by on the Radiator Springs Racers attraction. You’ll want to see Cars Land during the day and also at night when the neon lights are aglow!

If anyone in your group is a fan of Disney princesses, stop by Fantasy Faire to meet some Disney royalty. Don’t forget to pick up complimentary “first visit” buttons for your family too, Lisa. Visit me with more questions as you continue to plan!

    Wishing you magic,
    Courtney
