Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel
- Hello!! My husband and I are planning a trip to Disneyland to take my 9 year old daughter and my 1 year old son. I've heard about this Baby Swap thing on WDW, how does it work? it's the same on DL? What rides can the four us enjoy together?

- Hi, Carolina!
Yes, Guests with children who don’t meet the minimum height requirement may take turns experiencing attractions using the Rider Switch program at the Disneyland Resort. It allows an adult (and older children) to ride while another adult waits with a younger child or baby. You then "switch" so the second adult can enjoy the attraction without waiting all over again. The specific procedure can vary depending on the attraction, though (especially if Disney’s FASTPASS Service is offered), so it’s best to let a Cast Member at the beginning of the queue know you’d like to use Rider Switch and ask what steps you should follow.
There are lots of attractions your whole family can ride together, from Dumbo the Flying Elephant and ”it’s a small world” in Fantasyland, to Pirates of the Caribbean and Jungle Cruise in Adventureland, to Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters in Tomorrowland. If there’s no minimum height requirement posted at an attraction, your 1-year-old can definitely ride it. At Disney California Adventure Park, the whole family can also ride Mickey’s Fun Wheel, Monsters Inc. Mike & Sully to the Rescue! and The Little Mermaid - Ariel's Undersea Adventure, just to name a few. Check out the interactive attractions list at Disneyland.com to see a full list of attractions to enjoy as a family. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised by just how much even your littlest will be able to experience!
I hope this helps, Carolina, and that you have a wonderfully pixie-dusted vacation to the Disneyland Resort! Please write back with any other questions you may have as you continue to plan.
Wishing you magic,
