- Hi, Lara!
I’m so happy to hear that you’re planning a trip to the Disneyland Resort this Christmas. There’s nothing quite as magical as experiencing the Happiest Place on Earth when it’s all decked out for the holidays!
Storytellers Café at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa has a great character buffet breakfast served in a warm, woodsy setting that would make for a magical Christmas Eve meal. If your children are big princess fans, a character meal at Ariel’s Grotto at Disney California Adventure Park would be the perfect way to spend an evening! I’ve dined there several times and love the whimsical undersea atmosphere and character meet-and-greet opportunities during “Ariel’s Disney Princess Celebration.” It provides a great chance to meet a handful of favorite Disney princesses one-on-one in a fanciful setting!
If your children are a bit older, your family might enjoy an elegant meal at Carthay Circle Restaurant. It’s my favorite fine-dining restaurant in both theme parks because of the glamorous 1930s-Hollywood atmosphere and top-notch cuisine. You may want to take advantage of a World of Color dining package that evening so you can enjoy a special meal followed by a viewing of the popular show—which will be reimagined especially for the holidays—from a prime reserved location.
Dining reservations are recommended and can be made up to 60 days in advance by calling Disney Dining at (714) 781-DINE (3463). I hope this is helpful, Lara, and that your family has a perfectly pixie-dusted holiday visit to the Disneyland Resort! Please don’t hesitate to write back with any other questions you may have as your planning continues.
Wishing you magic,
