Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel

  • I will be visiting the park on a day that it closes at 6pm. If I have a dinner reservation for 5:30, can I stay in the park? Also, I have a day where I will be at the park by myself....what are some must dos?

  • Hi, Julie!

I love visiting the Disneyland Resort during the Halloween season, and I’m so glad to hear you’ll be heading there soon. The fall décor and seasonal treats, plus experiencing the Haunted Mansion Holiday attraction, are great perks of visiting that time of year!

If you’re visiting on an evening when the park closes earlier than usual, as it does when Mickey’s Halloween Party is offered at Disneyland Park, Guests who have not purchased a ticket for the event must leave the park at the designated time. However, you will be able to explore the park as normal for the earlier part of the day to experience attractions, splurge on Halloween-themed treats, and enjoy not-so-spooky activities at the Halloween Carnival at Big Thunder Ranch. My family especially enjoys watching the talented pumpkin carvers there.

If your dining reservation begins before the park closes to the public, you'll be able to enjoy your meal as planned, but you’ll have to leave the park as soon as you’re finished dining. Guests who are allowed to remain in the park will have special wristbands.

Should you have some time to spend exploring alone, be sure to see Mickey and the Magical Map, an all-new live show that debuted this spring, as well as Fantasy Faire, a whimsical storybook village adjacent to Sleeping Beauty Castle! Take advantage of your solo time and inquire about the single-rider line at popular attractions--it’s a great way to experience them with a shortened wait time. Indiana Jones and the Temple of the Forbidden Eye, Matterhorn Bobsleds and Splash Mountain are some examples of attractions that may offer a single-rider line.

I hope this helps, Julie, and that you have a wonderful visit to The Happiest Place on Earth! Please write back with more questions as you put the finishing touches on your vacation.

    Wishing you magic,
    Courtney
