Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel

  • My wife and I are going to run the WDW Wine and Dine 13.1. This will be our first time flying in and we are taking the Magical Express to our Resort. It turns out that our resort is not one of the Host Resorts, how can we get to/from the event?

  • Hi Daniel!

First, let me say that the Wine and Dine Half Marathon weekend is my favorite runDisney race weekend of them all!  Be sure to check out my runDisney blog post about it:)

While it is convenient to stay at a host resort...no worries!  I have stayed at a non-host resort for race weekends before and it's worked just fine.  I just arranged to take a taxi to all of the race events.  (expo, race, etc.)  You can arrange for this at your resort's front desk.

I like to be sure and leave extra early on race evening, so I would arrange for the cab to pick you up no later than 7 p.m.  The roads started getting pretty crowded with traffic closer to 8.

You will also either need to set a pre-determined time to be picked up from the party, or at least have the cab's phone number with you to call when you are close to ready to leave.

There will be final race instructions with information on where you need to be.  You will get an email with a link to them, they will be posted on the Wine and Dine Half marathon website (under the RUNNER INFO tab), and there will be printed booklets at the expo.

I hope this helps!  Please let me know if you have any other questions!
